Casey James has lived in the Chicago area since 2013 and is originally from outside of Boston, MA. She attended Bard College where she received two art awards and earned a BA in Studio Arts in 2010. She received a MA in Counseling: Art Therapy from Adler University in 2016. Casey has worked as an art teacher for a collective five years, having worked with students from kindergarten through high school. Her background in counseling and art therapy has influenced her approach to teaching and her own art process. She believes in the healing and therapeutic power of art and the importance of mental health in education. Casey’s primary medium is painting, but she has also produced work in pottery, printmaking and installation sculpture.
